There has been growing interest in the Kobe Bryant Adidas Lakers Hardwood Classics (HWC) 1987-88 Throwback jersey that the Lakers have worn several times this season.  Just some background on these throwback jerseys…as part of NBA Heritage Week (Dec. 7 - 14) several teams including the Lakers wore retro uniforms to honor the game’s history.  The Lakers last wore these retro uniforms on March 24th, 2008, in a win vs. the Golden State Warriors. 

Because these jerseys were first made available for sale in retail stores in December 2007 to coincide with NBA Heritage week, Adidas no longer mass produces these throwback jerseys for sale.  And for this reason, they have dried up on the retail level.  They originally retailed between $75.00-$85.00 depending on retail location, but now can no longer be found in stores such as Champs Sports.  The same can be said for online retailers.  As a result, consumers need to resort to the secondary market to obtain one.  The obvious choice is eBay.  However, we all know eBay is rampant with fakes and knockoffs from Asia.  In the next few days, I will be adding a Jersey section to this blog containing specific info on this Adidas HWC jersey with photos so consumers know what to look out for when purchasing from the secondary market.

This 2007-08 UD Black Quad Autographs 1/1, featuring signatures from Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Magic Johnson recently sold for $10,100 on eBay!  The card features four on-card signatures of the games best players from past and present.  Although an awesome-looking card that is limited to only 1 in the world, $10,100 is just too much for this card.  I’d rather much have this card for $1,223.24 and the extra $8,500+ to use on other things.

So its safe to say the most desired colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe III so far is the Lower Merion “Aces” colorway.  However, word on the street is that these “Aces” will be an Asia-exclusive.  Kobeheads looking to add this colorway to their collections are voicing their displeasure with Nike to make this an Asia-only release.  If this is the case, Kobeheads will most likely have to shell out $180-$280 for a pair from Asia. 

Unconfirmed release date is May 1st in Asia.  Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks.

One year ago today I registered for a KB24.com membership account.  This happened to be the same day Kobe’s second signature shoe with Nike released - the Nike Zoom Kobe II.  Shortly after purchasing the shoe from Foot Locker, I took photos of my pair and posted it on KB24.com’s “Post your pics of your Zoom Kobe II shoes” thread.  Soon after my post, Eric, the site’s administrator, posted my photos along with several other members’ photos in the News section of the site.
